Cannabis Cup 2008 - The 21st High Times Pot Awards - November 23rd - 27th, 2008
The main part of the festival took place at The Powerzone again, a little south of the city centre.
NOTE: for those smoking tobacco, you might keep in mind that very likely you are only allowed to smoke pure marijuana. Tobacco smoking in venues, bars and restaurants has been forbidden in June 2008.
Peter Tosh was honered and entered in the Counter Culture Hall of Fame on this 21st Amsterdam marijuana awards event. The Greenhouse had a party on monday in the Melkweg, with no less than Ky-Mani Marley. Tuesday THSeeds had a quite underground fashion show, with as many amsterdam locals as cup visitors. DNA Genetics had their party in the Melkweg. On wednesday Barney's occupied the Melkweg en entertained the cup crowd.
The award ceremony was held thursday evening in the Powerzone, backed up by great artists like Andrew Tosh, Bushman and Cannabis Cup regular Rocker T.

The 20th Cannabis Cup was held in Amsterdam - Duivendrecht at a venue called 'The Powerzone'.
The openings-ceremony was held at 4.20 hrs. at The Powerzone, and the closing ceremony at the winning coffeeshop on Friday the 23rd at 4.20 hrs.

Many parties and live acts flanked the festivities this year, the parties of Barney's Coffeeshop (presenting Moe), Self-Hemployed & Ceres Seeds (presenting Aceyalone, Heidi Happy, Fifi L'amour and John Sinclair & Mark Ritsema) and Hempworks (presenting the usual fashion show hosted by Redman.), The Homegrown Band, and others..
The 19th Cannabis Cup was held in Amsterdam Noord(north) in the Docklands building of the NDSM harbor. Eventhough it is considered travelling international for local Amsterdammers, the ferry ride is nice and only takes a few minutes. The expo was about the same size as it was last year, however this time there also is VIP area.
Also this year there were several live perfomances like; Jefferson Starship, Kottonmouth Kings & Mud Sticky.

The Steve Hagar made Matt Stang (one of the main organizers of the festival) officially High Times Temple Dragon Crew Member.
This years entries in the Counter Culture Hall Of Fame were Rainbow Family members Barry "Plunker" Adams & Garrick Beck.
