The Koos Zwart Award 2014 goes to Doede de Jong

Organic cannabis farmer Doede de Jong, sentenced to a confiscation order of half a million euros for cannabis cultivation, received the Koos Zwart Award during the 6th Cannabis Liberation Day in the Netherlands, in June 2014. This prize is awarded each year by the Dutch coffeeshops united in the PCN, for a person who has committed himself to the legalization and normalization of cannabis.

“This year the Koos Zwart Award could not go to anyone else,” said PCN spokesman Ricardo Hewitt at the presentation. The prize is named after Koos Zwart, cannabis activist from the very beginning, who died last month. The presentation was a moving moment on an otherwise especially cheerful day.
