1999 High Times (Beat) Cannabis Cup – November 1999 – Amsterdam, The Netherlands
The 12th Cannabis Cup. Because many coffeeshop owners had been less than thrilled with the balloting procedure over the years, this year they were given the job of voting for the seed companies. This idea, following it’s execution created tremendous confusion, and eventually resulted in several ballots being disqualified. The Green House won the overall Cannabis Cup. Sensi Seeds won the Sativa Cup and Paradise Seeds took the Indica Cup home.
Fishbone, Culture, Kottonmouth Kings, and Control Machete were among the many acts that performed.
Beatnik legends Jack Kerouac, Neal Cassady, Allen Ginsberg and William Burroughs were inducted into the Hall of Fame. Celebrity judges included Robert Anton Wilson, Carolyn Cassady, John Cassady, and Paul Krassner.
