2001 High Times ‘Space Odyssey’ Cannabis Cup – November 2001 – Amsterdam, The Netherlands
The 14th Cannabis Cup, titled ‘Space Odyssey’, was scaled down following the events in New York on 9/11. Subsequent rumors that authorities would cancel the Cannabis Cup also contributed to less attendance and sales than hoped.
Nevertheless, the awards proceeded this year. Sweet Tooth from Barney’s Breakfast Bar dominated the Cannabis Cup winning both the popular vote and the blind competition.
Paul Krassner, the dean of underground journalism, was the first living male inducted into the Counter Culture Hall of Fame by the Cup’s producers.
